Fairy in the Woods…

Good morning everyone, thanks so much for stopping by and as always for your comments on my last card

I have to share this with you that the kids bought me for my Birthday…

I’ve always said that when the dreaded day comes and we lose Manny that I would get a portrait done. They beat me to it and I’m absolutely thrilled with it. You can see it was done from the picture of him I have on my sidebar, the worry is always that the artist won’t get a likeness but I think she has really captured him

*

Quick post this morning, it’s pouring down here and Keith is tinkering with his bike in the garage. I’m all caught up with my magazine work so I’m going to have a few hours playing with the new Lili of the Valley and Mama Makes stamps

This is one of the LOTV fairies and she’s called 'In The Woods'

LOTV in the woods

I added some sparkle after I took the picture ,to her wings and the bottom of the dress

I’m trying to make an effort to use my embossing folders more too. I love the effect and have a drawer full but I always forget about them and they’re gathering dust like a lot of my stash

There are 4 fairies in the latest release, I used the digi stamp but there are coloured simply prints too which are adorable if you don’t like to colour or need a quick card

I know a few of you said you have trouble colouring the digis so I’ll try and see if I can find a few tips for you.Once you get used to the digis you will love them, there many advantages to using them

*

That’s it from me, have a great Saturday whatever you’re doing

  1. Fabulous card, I think this is my favourite of the new release she is just so cute ! I used to think like a lot of other crafters that digi's were somehow cheating but since I started using them I'm a total convert (in fact I think I'm an addict lol) The fact you can resize etc and also when you don't have a huge budget they are such value for money :)

  10. Wow, Manny's portrait looks just like him! Fantastic birthday gift from your children.
Aww, what a sweet card Anne! Fab colouring of the lovely image and a really Great card design.
I've bought the digis but definitely prefer rubber as when I've printed onto watercolour paper the ink always runs. Also I'm not great at getting the resizing to the size I want so waste ink printing it out more than once. I hope they bring rubber stamps back soon. Debra x

  13. Oh my gosh, what a fabulous portrait of Manny, I just love his wee face! Such a gorgeous card! The forest is my absolute favourite place to be and I sure wish there was a fairy there! Beautifu colouring job and I love the embossed panel!

The weather here has been so dull and grey, I would actually call it a complete lack of weather!! No sun, no rain, no snow, just grey, grey and more grey. Good thing I have tons of new crafting supplies to play with. lol. Still haven't brought myself to pick up my camera, but I did take a walk to the lake the other day to check out the gazillion seagulls that were making a ruckus. lol. Well I hope you have a great week my friend, sending hugs :)

  15. What a fabulous portrait of Manny and you have wonderful & considerate kids who have got it done for you. The artist did a fab job because it's almost exactly like the photo on your side bar.

  16. Sorry Anne I thought I'd commented on this post already as I'd seen the gorgeous portrait of Manny and thought what a marvelous likeness the artist had captured. A pretty girly card too, these new images are so sweet. I love your card design and fully agree with you about all the stash that is left unused and forgotten in our craft rooms - we've collected so much stuff over the years it's hard to remember to use it often in our creations.
