My first challenge!

Hi everyone, thanks again for stopping by.

I finally got to Marks and Spencers today. I have a confession actually, I bought my friend a lovely cardigan a couple of weeks ago but it was hanging in my room and I liked it so much I ended up wearing it and thinking I’ll get her something else!! It’s her birthday tomorrow so I was cutting it a bit fine but I got her a lovely pressie today so it turned out ok  …phew!

I don’t usually enter challenges but when I saw The Ribbon Girl theme of pink and cream vintage it was right up my street. I made a card just for fun which is quite rare these days and I really enjoyed it.

Hey everyone ….

I’m having some time off work this week to get some chores done although I haven’t actually done much yet because the weather has been so gorgeous  …in fact I’ve been completely lazy if I’m going to be honest!!
I set off for Marks & Spencers yesterday to get my friend a birthday present, it took me all day to muster up the energy to go and then I got 5 minutes down the road, got stuck in traffic and turned round and came back home!

This is a Christening card I made for my friend, I’d already taken the picture but just before I gave her it I decided to add a couple more flowers to the top right of the image so this isn’t quite the finished result.
She was really pleased with it, I’ve done a few recently with names and it makes them very personal and something you could never get in a shop.

All Our Dreams

Here’s what I used on the card;
Lili of the Valley stamp – all our dreams – coloured with ProMarkers
Core’dinations card
Maja design paper (I love this paper for boy’s cards, it’s so hard to find a good blue one)
Tim Holtz brads
Lace and flowers from The Ribbon Girl
Spellbinders nestabilities labels 18
The sentiment and name were done on the computer

That’s it from me today, thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day x

A sunny weekend ...

Hi everyone, hope you're having a lovely weekend. Isn't this weather amazing?

I was outside pottering yesterday all day, Heart radio had a disco day and every track was from the 70's and 80's. It took me right down memory lane and it was fab, I  just hope the neighbours didn't see me bopping round the garden like a mad woman!

This little chap looks like he's having a good time doesn't he - flying off in his hot air balloon on an adventure!

All the stamps are from Lili of the Valley (where else!)
I used patchwork hot air balloon, grunge postcards and set 10 verses.

The punch is EK success, twine and seam binding from The Ribbon girl, sentiment die is Spellbinders, and the card I used is Core'dinations.

Enjoy your Sunday, and don't forget when I reach 100 followers one lucky winner will get 2 packs of Flexmarkers in my candy draw as a little thank you for supporting my blog.

Happy everything!

Good evening and thanks for popping by.

I'm just watching 56 up, if anyone has seen it don't you think it's a great concept?
We were shown the first couple of episodes in sociology at school and I've watched it every 7 years since.
For a people watcher like me it's fascinating to see how they all turned out, I'd love to have something like that myself to look back on.

Onto todays card and this is one I made for our showroom at work. The image was coloured by June so I had to pick out papers to match the colours she'd used. Purple and yellow are not colours I use often together but I was pleased with how it turned out - it's bright and cheery!

The stamp is Milly flower power and the sentiment is from set 8 - both from Lili of the Valley

The dies are doohickey and memory box

Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and ribbon from The Ribbon Girl

Nor sure about the patterned paper it was from my stash, the card is all core'dinations

The yellow edging is distress stickles, I really love this stuff, it just gives a lovely touch when you don't always want sparkle.

Thanks for looking, I think the sun is going to shine tomorrow hurray so have a lovely day everyone xx

Walk the Plank blog hop winner ....

Hi everyone, hope you're having a lovely weekend so far.

I'll be back later with some candy, but for now here is the winner of the commenters prize from our mini blog hop last week.

The prize I'm giving away is a Lili of the Valley stamp, and the winner drawn at random is PAT - here's Pat's comment;

Hi Anne! Yikes! Is this ever cute! I am lovin' this stamp more and more with each DT's blog I visit! Love your card design...and DPs. And...what a clever idea to stamp just the puppy on the tag! Love it! Hugs. Pat Frank

Thanks Pat, email me with your address and I'll get your prize sent off to you.

I'd like to say a big thanks to everyone who took the time to visit and leave a comment on my card, it's very much appreciated.

PS. Maureen I'd be happy to do a little tutorial on how I made the tag so watch out for it in the next couple of weeks.

Back soon xx

A little ditty ….

Hi everyone,  it’s a lovely evening here after a bit of a drizzly day.
We’ve just had a nice walk with the dog so I’m hoping hubby will settle to watch the tv so I can go and craft for a couple of hours!

All you ladies that say you’re married to such understanding men are very lucky, my husband needs a hobby of his own I think so that he’s not wanting to spend all his spare time with me. I’m desperately trying to get him interested in something that will be very time consuming lol!!

I’ve had this little poem on my computer for about 10 years, it says author unknown and I’ve no idea where I got it from but I thought I would share it with you;

An ode to my crafty wife

She learned to stamp on Monday
Her embossing was quite fine
She forgot to make the dinner
So we went out to dine

She brayered backgrounds Tuesday
She says they are a must
They really are quite lovely
But she forgot to dust

On Wednesday it was birthday cards
She says that chalking’s fun
Pens and inks and watercolours
But the laundry wasn’t done

Her craft class was on Thursday
Using blue and green and red
She must have been so engrossed
That she never made the bed

It was shaker cards on Friday
Using techniques she just adores
But she never seemed to notice
The crumbs on all the floors

I found a maid on Saturday
My week is now complete
My wife can craft the hours away
The house will still be neat

It’s already round to Sunday
And my forehead’s feeling damp
I cursed, I raved, and I ranted ….
The Maid has learned to stamp!!!

Isn’t it great!!
I hope that made you smile   …and enjoy the rest of your evening everyone

Bubble Bath

Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed the blog hop yesterday and thank you so much for your lovely comments - they are all very much appreciated.

If  you're a new visitor then thanks for stopping by ...you can still join in the hop and you have until Friday to leave a comment on my 'walk the plank' card to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

I have a card to show you today that I made for my Brother's wedding anniversary. I had planned to use the bubble bath stamp from Lili of the Valley but left it until the last minute as usual so I used the die cut version of that same stamp, they are so great for a quick card.

The card is core'dinations and the lace is from The Ribbon Girl

The little wooden buttons were bought at the NEC and the flowers were in my stash, they are cream so I inked them with a bit of vintage photo distress ink.

I made a little tag using a doohickey die and stamped a sentiment on it from the Lili of the Valley love sentiments sheet.

Thanks for calling by and enjoy the rest of your evening x

LOTV designers mini hop – Walk the Plank

Welcome to the Lili of the Valley Designers Mini Hop!!  By popular demand we have reverted to the original way of doing the hop - we are all going to use the same stamp again as we did with the first hop so you'll get various  different ideas on using the same stamp.

This month we are sponsored by The Ribbon Girl and Lili of the Valley, each have supplied two prizes, and as there are only five DT members taking part this month all five blogs will have a prize up for grabs!!

Today we are showcasing "walk the plank" from the latest release from Lili of the Valley and here’s the card that I’ve made to share with you today…

walk the plank tag in

I put a diagonal piece over the front which makes a little pocket to hold the matching tag

walk the plank tag

I’ve just used the little dog from the stamp for the tag, I love making these using my doohickey dies, they’re so cute!

  walk the plank tag out

I also used doohickey dies for the cloud and the star border, Magnolia patterned papers, Tim Holtz brads and the little charm is from our generous sponsors this month The Ribbon Girl

walk the plank no tag

Sorry about the shadows on the pictures, I didn’t realise how bright it was until I looked at the photos tonight!

All you have to do to join in the fun is leave a comment on each of the DT's blogs. We will draw a winner on Friday 19th May and announce the winners on our blogs so make sure that you check back then to see if you won a prize!

The DT taking part in this mini hop are:

Fleur

Pops

Anne (that’s me!)

Dena

Bev

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day x

Daisy's 18th

If you're still popping by then thank you so much. I'm hanging my head in shame for being such a bad blogger... there just aren't enough hours in a day for me at the moment. It was great to see some of you at the Lili of the Valley open weekend, it's always lovely to meet people in 'real life'!!

For those of you that are still here then thank you! I have a card today which is a bit different from my usual style - my daughter is 18 soon, she's one of the youngest in her group so this past year I've made so many 18th cards I've lost count.

I made one like this and they all loved it so I've made a few since in different colourways.

I love love love hAnglar stamps, I've built up a nice little collection by finding them on ebay and I did buy a few sets directly from them but it's strange because nothing has happened on their website for months. I hope they haven't closed, I love the designs of the Magnolia stamps but I just can't take to the faces on them, I much prefer these.

I find the large areas quite hard to colour, I'm just not there yet with the markers, probably because I don't have enough time to practice and I know it's not going to happen overnight.

The numbers and letters were cut on my Cricut with George and basic shapes and I embossed the core'dinations card that she's sat on.

Hope you like it, make sure you come back tomorrow for another of our LOTV design team mini blog hops when there will be some random commentors prizes.
