Sketchy free for all …and some candy!

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by, hope you all had a lovely weekend
I got my garden finished and the tubs are looking lovely   …just need some sun now and then we can sit in it!!

As promised I’ve put together some candy to celebrate me getting to 300 followers, hooray  …just a few thousand more to catch up with some of the other dt members lol!!

Just leave your name in the linky below and I’ll draw a winner in a few days…

candy

Here's what's in the giveaway...   a distress ink (I somehow ended up with 2 of the same colour) a ribbon bundle, washi tape, flowers, 2 rubber stamps and a patterned paper pad  …just a little goodie bag to say thanks for supporting my blog

It’s a sketchy free for all this week over at Papertake Weekly and as always there’s a prize up for grabs for the lucky winner, this week our fabulous sponsor is Simon Says Stamp

I used Sketch 80 …

…and here’s my card

PTW 13 - Sketch 80

I used the sunflowers from one of the Lili of the Valley art pads, so many people have asked for this design in rubber that it will be in with the next stamp launch
The DT are starting sneak peeks anytime now and you can get the new stamps on the website from July 8th (or on July 6th if you can visit our shop)

I put glossy accents on the vases to make it look like glass and some distress stickles in the middle of the flowers

Sunflowers

The papers are K & Co, the little flowers were on one of the papers so I just cut them out as they matched and put a blob of liquid pearls in the centres

The useful dots around the edge of the image are on the new Grunge Swirls stamp set from Lili of the Valley

The sentiment is again Lili of the Valley from one of my most used sets, this is handwritten phrases

Leave me a comment if you have time, I love to know what you think  …and don’t forget to add your name to the linky if you want to be in the candy draw

Hot Hot Hot …

Evening all, my friend is on holiday at the moment so I’m missing my Tuesday night wine. I’m always out on a Tuesday so Keith does his own thing normally  …which means I can spend the whole evening tonight in the attic crafting   …except I’ve just come up here and it’s sooo bloomin hot so I don’t know how long I’ll last to be honest!

It said on the forecast it’s going to be the hottest day of the year so far tomorrow so I don’t think I’ll get up here much then either. It’s great having my own space but it’s freezing in Winter and like a sauna in Summer so not ideal really. It’s been nice today but not sunny, it’s quite muggy and uncomfortable

Those of you who read my blog regularly will know that I have a habit of rescuing small animals and I found a little bird today. They’re all over the place at the moment building their nests and flying straight across the road into the paths of oncoming cars. I was just about to turn into my street and saw a tiny little brown bird just sat in the  middle of the road so I pulled up and ran back to him praying that no cars came the other way before I got there. I scooped him up in my hand and he didn’t move at all poor little thing he was just blinking and he had a tiny droplet of blood just above his beak. I think it was a baby and he’d obviously flown into a car. Keith had just ordered a watch and had it delivered to me at work and it was lucky that I had it in the car, I was trying to hold the bird in one hand and open the box with the other so I could put him in it, I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t had that box. I rang the local vets and she said just leave him in there for a while in the dark as sometimes they’re just a bit stunned. I didn’t know if to take the box back to where I found him in case his Mum was looking for him but there are a few cats around there so I was worried about that and didn’t want him near the road if he was a bit shocked. After about 20 minutes I was going to have a little peek and as soon as I opened the box he just flew out …hooray. I was cheering and clapping like a mad woman I was so pleased that he was ok. I think he’d just needed some time to come round but he wouldn’t have lasted long on the road poor little chap so I did a good deed today!

Onto today's card and it’s time for another challenge at Papertake Weekly and this week our theme is…

There is a yummy voucher up for grabs from The Ribbon Girl for the lucky winner

ten-pound-gift-voucher

As always there is some fab inspiration from the design team so pop over and have a look if you need a few ideas

I used it as a colour theme, they’re not colours I use very often so it made a change…

PTW 12 - Hot hot hot

I used gorgeous K & Co papers and made the flowers with my favourite Crealies die

The Patch and Puss image is from the Lili of the Valley Art Pads, they are fab if you don’t have time to colour

The red lace was a roll end from work, we have this for sale in the Lili of the Valley shop in a few lovely colours

The sentiment is from the scroll sentiments which fit the scroll from the Geisha Girl companion set, both again Lili of the Valley

That’s it from me, enjoy the rest of your Tuesday

Ribbon Girl colour challenge …

Hi everyone, hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend…

glad my little funnies made you smile last night!

Time for another colour challenge at The Ribbon Girl and this month we want to see your projects using all shades of pink - our favourite!!

We have two great prizes for our lucky winner from Lili Of The Valley and Ribbon Girl

The Design Team have created some fabulous projects as always   …and, we have some new teamies joining us so do make sure you go and have a look at the wonderful cards they’ve made to give you some inspiration

Here’s my card…

it actually turned out to be as much green as pink, it didn’t set out that way but when I stamped the image in pink it didn’t look right

June - Pink

Ribbon Girl pink

I’ve put 2 pictures up because I couldn’t decide if I liked it with or without the bunting …and then I added a bit more tulle   …just can’t leave well alone!

I used loads of gorgeous goodies from the Ribbon Girl, you can find them all on their website…

Kort and Godt rolled paper roses, top stitching thread, Emily embroidered tulle lace, hemp twine, tulle, teardrop pinwheel, pearl bead string, flatback pearls, white beaded sprigs

The stamp is one of the new Statements from Lili of the Valley and the little green flowers are Petaloo

I used shabby white Frantage around the edges and also some of their rose fragments. We’ll have a great selection of these in the shop later this week, the Frantage powders we got in for the open day completely sold out so I think you’re liking them as much as I do. They’re great for grunging up your cards and adding some texture while still keeping an element of prettiness

Hope you like it, make sure you stop by during the week for my 300 followers candy giveaway

This weeks challenge at Papertake Weekly is ‘Hello Boys’

Father's Day is just around the corner so we want to see any 'male' cards or projects …easy as that

I used one of the new Vintage Backgrounds on my card and this one is Clocks & Cogs (try saying that a few times quickly!!)

PTW 11 - Hello Boys

I don’t usually decorate the middles of my cards but I was quite pleased with this. I used one of the new Art Pads from Lili of the Valley, these images are so great for a quick card when you don’t have time to colour

I cut out the bag from a second sheet and put that in the middle

 Golfer middle

Golfer middle 2

I went a bit mad with the Frantage but I love the stuff, it adds such a great extra dimension to your card

Other supplies are Bazzill craft card, Walnut Stain distress ink and from The Ribbon Girl I’ve used button twine and jute mesh ribbon

The alphabet letters are a stamp set from Craftwork Cards

Here’s my card and I’ve used one of the new Statement stamps…

 PV Blog Hop 1

This one is from the set called ‘Fabulous’ I stamped it in Wild Honey distress ink

I used the same ink along with Weathered Wood to make the background paper using some swirls and dots from the new Grunge Swirls set

  PV Blog Hop 2

The lovely little butterflies are from a set that you do not want to miss, it’s called Grunge Elements

I stamped them onto watercolour paper, coloured them in and then embossed with clear powder and they turn out like stained glass

There are 3 sizes of them on the sheet along with a fab clock, leaves, a key and loads of other useful bits

Hope you like it!

Anything goes …

Hey everyone, OMG I’m such a bad blogger  …

if you stopped by from the ideas to Inspire blog to see the details of my little folder I am so sorry that I didn’t do the post, where did the week go?? I promise that I will put it on in the next couple of days

The weather has been fabulous, I think Summer is here hooray and I’ve been enjoying the sunshine. I haven’t been near the attic where my computer and crafting stuff live as it’s been sooo bloomin hot up there!

We had a great time at the Lili of the Valley open day on Saturday, it’s always lovely to catch up with the dt girls, and a few friends old and new dropped in for a chat. You all loved the new stamps which we were very pleased about because they are a bit different from what you’d expect from LOTV

It’s the first week of the month which means over at Papertake Weekly it’s the usual Anything Goes theme

…there is an optional extra to make a non square card but this is only an option and if you don’t want to do this then you don’t have to

As our regulars will know, the first challenge of the month is sponsored by Lili Of The Valley

… and there’s a lovely £10 voucher for one lucky winner

***

I re-jigged a card that I made last year and was never quite happy with. I liked it too much to throw it away so I took the original sentiment off and added one of the new Lili of the Valley Quotable stamps. This is much better, I think if the sentiment is going to be the focus of a card then it needs to be a good size

The swirly and dotted bits round the edge are from their new Grungy Bits and Grungy Swirl sets as are the scrumptious little butterflies which are in 3 sizes

PTW 10 - Anything goes not a square

quotable

The lace, button twine and rolled paper roses are all from The Ribbon Girl

I used K&Co papers and Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by  x
