Baby Tags…

Evening all, how was your weekend? We had a few days away in Chester and it was a nice break. It’s a lovely city, lots to see and very historic

I had a couple of places on the Coast planned for today, I’d love to see the statues on Crosby beach, but the weather was so bad we just did a bit of shopping and headed back home after lunch

We just took my Mum out for tea as she’s been looking after Manny (and Joe, but I didn’t tell him that!) so I don’t seem to have stopped eating for the last 4 days – I’m stuffed and dread facing the scales next Monday, I’m going to need to starve between now and then!

I made a couple of tags using the gorgeous Tiny Miracles papers from Lemon Craft which are available from the Ribbon Girl

Sorry but the coloured images are discontinued I was just using them up, I printed the sentiments on the computer

All the lovely embellishments also come from the Ribbon Girl… tulle, stickles, flatback pearls, white seam binding, pink and ivory pearl flatback hearts, pink 23mm organza, ivory button twine, Charlotte Elizabeth vintage style lace, Leah scallop flat lace, ivory jute mesh ribbon

Hope you like them, I’m going to catch up on the final Game of Thrones episode now, I can’t wait. We were away last night so I missed it (although I would have watched it on my ipad if I’d known the football was going to be such a joke!)

Enjoy the rest of your week everyone, thanks for stopping by

Time for a new 'Any Image' challenge at the Ribbon Girl

It’s a nice easy one, there isn’t a theme - just create a new project that has an image on it and blog about it… simple! There are 3 lovely prizes for our randomly drawn winners and the challenge will end on Saturday 2nd July at 9pm UK time

First prize:  £10 voucher for LOTV

Second prize:  £10 voucher for The Ribbon Girl

I used some more of the scrummy new papers that Mary has in stock, these are by a Company called Lemon Craft and they are divine. I used the 6x6 pad but some of the sheets are available in 12x12 too…

Ribbon Girl June

The pad is called Tiny Miracles, the images are from the papers too – they are really lovely and it was hard to cut them!

The doily frame is a new product too, Mary has a few different designs of these Scrapiniec chipboard laser cut shapes and you are going to love them

Here’s a list of the items I used, everything is of course from the Ribbon Girl shop; Lemon Craft 'Tiny Miracles' 6x6 paper pad, Scrapiniec chipboard lace doily round, cheesecloth, flatback pearls, stickles stardust glitter glue, white and pink cherry blossom flowers, two tone pink hip rosebud flowers, cream 20mm open roses, 16mm hot pink saddlestitch ribbon, clear crystal hearts, white pearl and crystal sprays, 45mm 'Eleanor' White Embroidered Tulle Lace

Floor progress, and a wedding card…

Hello everybody, blimey another week has flown by…   where on earth does the time go?

We’ve got the workmen in this week sorting out the hole in our floor, the wet rot has all been burned away, new joists put in, and the wood and bricks all treated so hopefully that should be the end of the problem

It’s horrible thinking that this has been under our floor for goodness knows how many years, this is a few days on when it’s started to dry out so you can imagine how horrendous it was when Keith first looked, OMG

The foot size hole you can see in the board is where my Sister in Law fell through, it was quite funny…

ok, it was actually hilarious!

…and you can’t see but there is a matching one at the other side where Keith fell through on Sunday, he pulled the curtain down, that was hilarious too

…looking a bit better now, Manny thought he was project manager!!

Plastering and skirting boards tomorrow and then we have to start decorating, but, that means the other rooms will all look scruffy and we’ll probably end up doing the whole downstairs!

Jess is going to a wedding on Saturday and asked me for a special card as it is a good friend of hers. I’d seen this pretty shaped card on Teresa Allday’s blog and wanted to try it for a while...

Here’s what I used;

Doohickey heart border

Image from one of the discontinued LOTV art pads

Centura pearl card

NitWits Mr & Mrs papers

Stickles stardust glitter and gems from the Ribbon Girl

The front flap lifts up and I decorated the inside to match (although I forgot to take a picture)

The names and date are printed on vellum and then I just stuck it at either side with a tiny blob of glue and covered with a gem

Hope you like it, here’s a link to the original tutorial and here is the version by Teresa if you fancy a go

Right, time for a nice soak in the bath for me! I can’t wait to get stuck in and have a good clean, we seem to have been surrounded by muck and dust for weeks!

Enjoy the rest of your week crafters

It’s Monday…

Evening everyone, I’m excited because it’s Monday and nearly time for Game of Thrones

I think when this season finishes I’ll have to watch the box set again…  I love it!

I’m reading the books at the moment but I’ve been on the first one for weeks and weeks now and am only 46% of the way through it, 10 minutes before I go to sleep every night is about my lot so you can imagine how long it takes me to get through a book like this! That said I am enjoying it and the TV series seems to have kept quite close to the story which is good

I’ve started watching Billions too which looks very promising. I do like Damian Lewis and there has been talk of him being the next Bond. I’m a huge fan of Daniel Craig so I’m sad to see him hanging up his trunks but I’m intrigued to see who they pick; I love Tom Hiddleston but I think my choice would be Idris Elba, he’d make a great James Bond!

I found this card when I was going through my pictures and don’t remember ever putting it on here – I think it was one I just showed on the LOTV blog

pop up

The card is a simple pop up which you can then decorate as you choose. The lovely papers are from a Cosmo Cricket pad and I used some lace, rafia and flowers from The Ribbon Girl

The image stamp is now discontinued – sorry!

That’s it from me – its nearly time!!

…enjoy the rest of your Monday crafters

Sports Challenge…

Good evening crafters, hope you’ve all had a nice week – they certainly fly by don’t they. I think the time is actually going quicker now I am at home, I am certainly never bored that’s for sure!

Our problem with the floor is ongoing and we’ve got the workmen coming a week on Monday to treat the wet rot. The plaster and skirting in the bay will all have to come off as it has gone up behind it so we’re going to have a mess but luckily it hasn’t spread any further. There is a mix of carpet and tiles on our downstairs floors and we’ve considered replacing them all with wood. Manny was skidding about on the laminate that was under our carpet though so I’m having second thoughts now. He jumps on and off the sofa so I’d never forgive myself if he slipped and hurt himself, especially with his poor little legs. So we’ll just replace the front room carpet for now and look at it again in the future – hard floors are much easier to keep clean when you have a dog but I do like my carpet!

Time for a new LOTV challenge and because there is a great summer of sporting events ahead it couldn’t be anything else this month but… SPORTS!

There are some fab prizes on offer for 5 winners that we will pick at random and the challenge closes at 6pm UK time on Wednesday 15th June. You can enter and see all the details on the facebook page or click on the picture above

This is another card from the set I did a few months back for Quick Cards and it seemed a perfect choice to introduce the challenge…

LOTV littlefolk3

LOTV littlefolk 4

These are the Little Folk stamps and they are so cute!

I cut the images out and used pinflair on the boy to add dimension. The papers were a download from Etsy, if anyone wants to know what they are send me a message and I’ll dig out the link. They are very brightly coloured but a nice set

The full feature is in the April issue of the magazine if you are able to get hold of a copy

We have a good forecast now for a few days so I’m going to spend some time in the garden and get my flowers planted into pots

Thanks as always for taking the time to leave me a comment, I’ll be catching up with all your blogs over the next few days

Have a fabulous weekend everyone
