DYSU – guest DT

Good evening everyone, I’m a bit giddy tonight because I’m a guest DT member for the DYSU challenge
Lili of the Valley are sponsoring them this week and me and Fleur were asked to make a card for their ‘stripes’ theme to represent the LOTV design team

Here’s my card using birthday fairy which is one of my favourite Lili of the Valley stamps and one of the first ones I ever bought

The striped paper was just in my stash so I don’t know the make of it, the other card is Core’dinations.
The border die is a magnolia doo hickey and the frame is Spellbinders scalloped ovals
The sentiments were done using the new Spellbinders girlie grunge labels, I’ve used these a lot lately I’m loving them
All the flowers and lace are from The Ribbon Girl and Wild Orchid Crafts

Oh, and she was coloured with ProMarkers

Hope you like my card, thanks for looking and do take a peek at the DYSU challenge blog

Bye for now

Thanks everyone ....

Firstly thanks so much for all the lovely comments on my card yesterday, I'm glad you all enjoyed the mini blog hop

Secondly make sure you pop back to see if my blog is one of the mystery prize blogs, if so on Wednesday I'll be randomly picking from all the comments left and the lucky winner will get a prize from one of our sponsors Lili of the Valley or Wild Orchid Crafts

Right onto todays card, this is something a bit different so I'm interested to know what you think

I had to make a sympathy card and went through all my stamps (I have 100's) but just couldn't seem to find the right image to use so I decided to just use some paper and a sentiment and try to keep it simple. I actually made two so I'll put the other one up another day if you like this one

It's hard to see on the picture but there is a bit of sparkle and ribbon on it - it's difficult to know what to do for sympathy cards, you want to say the right thing and don't want to say the wrong thing and it's hard to get it just right but I thought these turned out ok

Pop back soon and there will be something a bit more cheerful next time!!

PS. Thanks for the advice Linda, I'm going to put my candy on this weekend now I know what to do x

The DT taking part are;
Anne (me!)

This is my card, I used Kitchen Herbs which took me out of my comfort zone a bit. This image doesn’t lend itself to lots of girlie embellishments but I couldn’t resist using a few flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, do make sure you have a look at their website, it’s an Aladdin's cave of gorgeousness!!

Lili of the Valley Kitchen Herbs April 2011

I used papers from one of the new Cosmo Cricket pads and core’dinations card
The little brads are Tim Holtz and the flowers (cosmos daisies) of course are from our generous sponsors this month Wild Orchid Crafts

Lili of the Valley Kitchen Herbs April 2011 2

The sentiment was printed on the computer and the dies I used are Spellbinders large deckle edge rectangles
The ribbons, twine and heart are from The Ribbon Girl
I used Promarkers to colour the image and then tried a bit of shading with some PolyChromos pencils, I’m just starting out with this technique and am far from mastering it so don’t look too close at that bit!!

Hope you enjoyed your visit to my little blog, I’d love you to pop back and do make sure you visit all the blogs on the hop and leave a comment to be in with a chance of one of our fabulous prizes

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Back to work today ….

Hi everyone, hope you all had a smashing Easter. I spent the whole weekend building wardrobes so I was back at work today for a rest!

I managed to catch up on the last couple of episodes of Stella while I was doing my DIY, if you saw that programme wasn’t it great? I hope it’s shown again on regular TV for those that don’t have SKY and I read that there will be a second series so I’m looking forward to that.

Onto today's card, this one is using Pom Pom from Lili of the Valley and also one of our background stamps which are both on special offer at the moment. I love the background stamps because you can make your own coordinating backing papers.

The flowers, lace and embellishments are all from the ribbon girl, I used Core’dinations card and Magnolia patterned paper, Spellbinders and Nellie Snellen dies and finally the little stamped heart is from our love sentiments sheet

Thanks for visiting and also for all your lovely comments - I will get round to putting up the promised candy when I find out how to keep a post at the top of the page!

Enjoy your evening and I’d love it if you’d keep popping back

Cake glorious cake!

Good evening, and thanks again for visiting my little blog

What freaky weather we’re having, it was wellies and gloves yesterday here with the snow and today glorious sunshine again – very strange!

I’m working on Saturday as our showroom is open but have tomorrow and Monday off so it’s a nice long weekend. I was hoping to do some card making but my Ikea delivery is coming tomorrow so will probably end up spending the whole weekend building wardrobes!

This card is using cake glorious cake from Lili of the Valley, I love this stamp – one of my favourites I think

week 7 - anything goes - 16th february

I’ve used a couple of Doo Hickey dies and a Spellbinders label (18 off the top of my head?) The sentiment is a Lili of the Valley one from set 7

The paper is just from my stash and the flowers from Wild Orchid crafts

Have a fabulous weekend everyone, hope you get to do something nice!

Sunny again here today …

Good afternoon everyone, hope you’re all well today and enjoying your weekend – the sun is back hurray and it’s glorious again here

My shopping trip yesterday didn’t quite go to plan, I came home with lots of lovely boxes for my craft room to store paper in  …and no clothes :o(

At least when I’m sat crafting and my jeans are cutting me in half, I’ll able to look at my papers and admire how beautifully organised they are!!

I saw this silhouette recently and thought it was lovely so I thought I’d share it today for something a bit different

Thanks for all your lovely comments yesterday, it’s nice to know I’m not talking to myself lol

I’ll be making sure that I visit all of your blogs, and enjoy the rest of the weekend
