Ribbon Girl giveaway …and the some of my favourite things!

Morning everyone, hope you’re all ok
I’ve had a busy weekend, Jess has gone back to Doncaster to start her course again so fingers crossed that her knee has fully healed
She’s going to have to be careful but she was excited and I’ll miss her, she’ll be back home in August which seems such a long time away

My son Joe came home with his tongue pierced after we’d told him he couldn’t have it done, he seems to think now he’s 16 he can do what he likes and is giving us more than a few headaches at the moment. He finishes school on Friday and can’t wait to leave, he will be on what they now call ‘stand down’ and just go back in for exams and revision. He doesn’t seem to be doing much work at home, I remember ‘swotting’ for hours when I did my O levels (showing my age there!) but he can’t wait to leave. He’s never liked school so I’m just really hoping once he gets to college doing something he enjoys that he’ll buck his ideas up

The Papertake Weekly challenge this week is a fab one…

The Sound Of Music

I had to make my card in a bit of a rush but I wish I’d had more time because there are so many possibilities with this, I used one of the new Lili of the Valley art pads. This is pad number 6 Fairies, they are so good when you need a quick card and I thought this little fairy was perfect for…

I used papers from one of my favourite Lili of the Valley pads, Bonnets and Bowties and a Spellbinders floral ovals die

The little flowers are Petaloo jewelled florettes and I sneaked on a couple of the new Impression Obsession heart stems that I had already cut, you can just about see them and I think this die is going to be very useful

The scrumptious crumpled seam binding was sent to me by a very lovely lady who has given me tips on scrunching my own, it’s lovely stuff but it’s so boring when it’s flat – I love this effect

Sorry there are so many pictures, I couldn’t get a good one showing how it folds, I will put a sentiment on the large area but ran out of time

  1. Such a pretty card Anne, one of my faves of your and it does not look a rush job at all. I had to smile at your comment re your son. My son did the same at 16 when we were away on holiday. Yes at the time I was horrified but after a few months he just got fed up with it and I noticed one night he had taken it out. I never said a word but that was the last of it! He is now 24, has his own successful golf business and those rebellious teenage days seem a lifetime away. Just go with the flow...they turn out just fine! X

  2. Hi Anne, Can't believe this was a rush card! It's so pretty and love all the flowers, as they go so well with the backing paper. The image is very cute too. Sorry to hear your problems with your son. I was very lucky and didn't have such problems, as he was a football addict. Don't let him see that it annoys you. Just as Jane said, go with the flow. Big hugs, Carol S.xx

  8. Loving the look of the scrunchy bow, Anne....gorgeous colouring on the pretty image, too. Have to agree with what Jane (above) says....my lad was 16, just started music college, came home with a piercing just below his bottom lip....I was horrified and threatened to pull it out with tweezers...hahaa! He had taken it out by the next morning....he's now 25, married with 2 kiddles and owns his own music studio.....so hang on!

  9. Such a pretty card Anne, I love the layout and pretty papers! Haven't seen the new art pads yet, but this little fairy looks amazing!... I can empathize with you regarding your son.. having similar experiences with my granddaughter lol!! It skipped a generation as I didn't have much trouble with my two lol!!.. Everyone says it will come right eventually lol!!!
