The weekend, and Mama Makes…

Good evening lovely crafty friends, I hope you all enjoyed the bank holiday

The weather was certainly beautiful, breaking records I think for May! We did some gardening yesterday and then had family round for a bbq,  nothing fancy but just a nice relaxing afternoon

I had a lovely weekend away visiting my friends Mary and Andrea in Newcastle. We went to the Sunderland glass centre and made a paperweight on Sunday and really enjoyed it, I love to do something different. I won’t see my paperweight for a week because it has to be left to ‘cook’ but the process was fascinating (if a tad hot!!) and I’ve got my name down for another go at something different in the future

Hochanda is featuring Mama Makes products on Leonie’s Let Loose shows tomorrow so be sure to tune in at 11 and 2, there should be some lovely bargains and lots of inspiration from the team for using the stamps

Here are a couple of cards that I made for the show using the Woodland Friends, Hello Spring and Elephant Birthday sets…

Elephant easel

Spring eclipse

The eclipse card is something I’ve seen around a lot recently, Jennifer McGuire did them a while ago and I really like the effect. I used the Lawn Fawn Louies ABC’s alphabet for this from Seven Hills Crafts

Hope you like them, don’t forget to tune in tomorrow… and enjoy the rest of your Tuesday

  1. I love the eclipse card, and I've seen them elsewhere recently, but the thought of diecutting my image once I've spent hours colouring it fills me with dread! LOL. I'm glad you enjoyed the glass blowing. I'd love to see the end result when you get it back. xx

    1. Thanks Annette, yes the time that you spend colouring you'd have to cut first and then do your artwork - it was a bit scary as I'd spent a while stamping this!

  4. Oh, these are gorgeously cute! Wonderful colouring of both and such lovely card designs too. I love the eclipse card but like Annette above the thought of cutting something you've spent ages colouring is just :-O.
Sounds like you had a fabulous time with your friends and the paperweight making sounds brilliant, is it something you have to book? Can't wait to see your paperweight. Debra x

    1. Thanks Debra, I'll be sure to share my paperweight when I get it. You can just go along and view but to do a workshop you have to book, it's the Sunderland glass centre and they do various different projects x

  6. Hi Anne, these are sooo cute, I love the sweet stamps , especially like the details of the second one.
Don't forget a pic of your paperweight when it arrives, sounds like fun.
We too had a bbq with family and my Niece had a cake waiting for my Hubby as he's just had his 60th just to soften the blow a little.

  9. Lovely cute cards, I especially love the eclipse technique one. Sorry for my erratic visits, not much time for commenting lately, thought I would manage to catch up this week as I'm away but I've done my back in since arriving so no walking and sightseeing for me and the internet is flaky:(
